Vice President, Food Manufacturing

This is a multi plant role requiring significant manufacturing management experience within a single large plant setting or a multi plant operation with at least 10 years of successful management experience in food products.  Provide overall leadership for an operating division within a multi-plant food manufacturer.  Direct plant management and division staff to ensure that goals in Safety, Quality and Reliability, as well as financial goals, are met.  This position will have responsibility for total employment in excess of 1,500 associates.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Provide direction, coordination and delegation to plant management staff  (Production, Engineering, Accounting, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, to insure they function to provide maximum plant efficiencies and utilization.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets for operating division (including capital appropriation).
  • Insure that division operates within all corporate and divisional policies and guidelines.
  • Insure that controls are in place to analyze, react to and minimize cost factors of labor, material, and burden in the plant operations.  
  • Interface with Marketing, Sales, Procurement and R&D groups with regard to operation capabilities, cost and quality considerations.
  • Remain current with market conditions, packaging and ingredient costs, competition, new technology, government regulations and supplier information as they apply to the plant operations. 
  • Maintain and operate plants at established levels of Safety, Quality, and Reliability.  Insure highly visible and effective programs in above areas and insure they adhere to Manufacturing and Corporate guidelines and standards.
  • Develop human resources for both present and future requirements at plant level as well as total divisional needs.

Desired Previous Experience:

  • Significant experience in a line or staff leadership position in Food manufacturing, 10+ years management experience.
  • BS degree minimum, MBA desired.
