Description:
Our client, a well established international manufacturer of commercial and defense products, is currently searching for a Senior Program Manager. The Sr. Program Manager will lead and direct the activities for all assigned programs, ensuring that products meet customer and industry requirements and are delivered on-time and within budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate of all activities associated with the design, manufacturing, integration and testing of equipment and components used in the Defense Industry.
- Lead internal proposal efforts, including proposal schedule, development of proposal themes, plans, schedules, risk assessments and cost estimates.
- Develop detailed plans for start-up of new programs.
- Overall responsibility for program performance metrics, including cost and schedule. Report program status to management on a regular basis.
- Act as the single point of contact for the customer with customer satisfaction a high priority. Support of contract/price negotiations. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to make presentations to groups.
- Periodically travel to company manufacturing facilities and customer sites.
- Establish and maintain good customer relations, team oriented position with significant leadership responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Must have 6+ years of experience as a Program Manager in the Defense/Aerospace industry.
- Requires a BS degree in Engineering or Business degree with applicable experience (MBA a plus).
- Must have a successful track record in managing complex military equipment programs as a prime contractor to a domestic or foreign military organization.
- Experience in DOD acquisition environment would be a plus
- Requires outstanding leadership and communication skills.
- Must have extensive knowledge of estimating, budgeting, planning, procurement, manufacturing, and scheduling and program management systems.
