Our client is a progressive and growing manufacturer providing custom machinery to a varied customer base.  The Manager of Manufacturing Engineering will provide vision, direction, leadership, empowerment, development and accountability over the Engineering Department. Primary accountabilities are, manufacturing process development for new products, unit cost quoting for new and existing work, the reduction of manufacturing operating costs through process improvements and the support of continuous improvement efforts and technical support for other organizations as required.  Extremely strong organizational and project management skills will be required to perform the job.

Reports to: General Manager

Responsibilities include:

• Simplification and streamlining of processes and procedures aimed at eliminating non-value added activities
• Combination and or elimination of manufacturing processes, procedures or steps
• Standardization of processes, procedures, equipment, tooling, fixturing, etc.
• Set up Reduction
• Establish a constant drive to reduce or eliminate set up times
• Eliminate or transfer internal times to external times
• Process Certification
• Implement 6-sigma process control
• Develop business strategies, Establish a formal and regular communications plan for presenting goals and progress
• Mentor and develop employees

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will oversee the Engineering Organization, Programmers and Manufacturing Engineers.

Desired qualifications:

Proven leadership abilities with a successful track record managing individual contributors.  Complete understanding of configuration control, configuration management systems, proficient with business costing and reporting systems, complete understanding of the cost / impact interactions between various manufacturing processes and systems.

Engineering degree and 5+ years of relatable experience or equivalent.
