Description:

Our client, a leader in materials engineering and testing, is seeking a hands-on Corporate Quality Manager to direct all quality activities for the company.  The position will report to the President & CEO and will manage quality for incoming materials & components, finished goods, and work in process.  Responsibilities will include the establishment and proper maintenance of statistical quality standards, ISO requirements, NADCAP requirements, and quality improvement activities for all operations.  Coordinates the direction of inspection, and the rejection of all sub-standard specimens and act as the Corporate ISO Coordinator for all ISO 9001 and AS9100 activities and requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and coordinate all QC activities in all areas of the corporation.

• Establishes department policies, control processes and quality programs within overall direction set by corporate officers.

• Coordinate vendors and customers establishment of quality standards with company inspection criterion and confer with customers and vendors on specific quality problems.

• Performs audits of internal operations, and audits vendors to company established quality standards.

• Work with customers’ auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.

• Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an applied science or engineering field.

• Prior experience in mechanical/materials engineering or quality engineering.

• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and experience in quality system audits.

• Familiarity with ISO 17025 and/or Nadcap requirements.

• Demonstrated strong people/management/interpersonal skills along with exceptional written and oral communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

• Willingness to be hands on as needed.
