Our client, a dynamic Cincinnati based engineering firm, is experiencing tremendous growth creating an immediate need for an Electrical Project Engineer.  This person should be a Registered Engineer or have the ability to obtain a P.E. designation in the near future.  The position will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and will responsible for managing projects related to power distribution systems design and/or lighting systems design for various types facilities.

Skills, Abilities, and Responsibilities:

 
  • Responsible for following client stated objectives for the project, usually involving frequent meetings with clients and market segment leaders to review full project plan and implement this plans as required.
  • Responsible for editing and creating specifications.
  • Involves supervision of Electrical Engineers/Designers in the development of design documents
  • Functions as a Project Manager and/or Lead Engineer.  This will include coordinating in house design document development, supervising in house project teams, and scheduling work to meet project deadlines.
  • Assist marketing efforts in order to sell company services.
  • Suggests and implements changes in design methods or equipment
  • Preparation of full site development drawings for electrical and telecommunication utilities with the appropriate utility company and site lighting
  • Keeps accurate record of billable time to be entered into the timesheet program

 

Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain P.E. designation in the near future
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years of related experience
  • Most have a strong understanding and knowledge of building, electrical, and energy codes, and as well as an understanding of NFPA and how to branch circuiting and panel schedule creation
  • Ability to utilize lighting and power calculation software packages
  • Understands voltage utilization and typical electrical principles
  • Understands company drafting standards, AutoCAD drawing files, views, manipulation of working drawings, layering, lisp routines, and menus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel and perform field surveys
