$125,000 - $140,000 plus 15-25% bonus

Description:

Our client is a financial services company created in 2003 to market  prepaid Visa Debit cards to the unbanked consumer.  Currently their Debit Card targets 48 million unbanked individuals.  Benefits of the program include direct deposit of pay checks, the ability to withdraw funds at over 800,000 ATMs globally, the ability to use the card wherever Visa Debit cards are accepted, online bill payment and 24/7 English and Spanish language customer service.  Additionally, our client develops third party prepaid card and customer affinity card products. Most recently they have partnered with a state of the art financial technology provider to also offer comprehensive bill payment service to individuals and families without access to a traditional banking relationship.  Customers have access to a 24 hour on-call accountant and over 20,000 electronic billers.  They expect to see significant growth in the next two years through organic growth of existing products and the introduction of new products and services.  The company has a unique brand position with strongly positioned investors who are committed to the long term growth of this business.

 

The current need is for a senior management team member to serve as the Director of Operations.  This person will report directly to the CEO and be involved with establishing the corporate operation infrastructure as well as spearheading the launch of new products and services as the company grows.   This is an extremely entrepreneurial opportunity to be a part of a leadership team that will shape the corporate strategy of a well positioned business backed by very strong, successful investors.

 

Specific duties are:

  • Manage call center function currently outsourced to a third-party vendor.  Evaluate customer service models that will fit with long term growth plans. Identify and drive improvements to the customer experience and cost structure.
  • Provide oversight for financial transaction processing, currently outsourced to a third part vendor.  Continue to evaluate processes to enhance efficiencies in the back office functions.
  • Take responsibility for developing risk control policies and fraudulent activity reporting and resolution.
  • Build strategic relationships with external vendors, managing contracts and service agreements that enable operational execution of company strategies.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. required
  • Senior level management experience in start-up financial services operations role.  Must be very comfortable with a results oriented, entrepreneurial team culture.
  • Six Sigma, strong analytic modeling and structured thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of credit/debit card or banking systems, including compliance requirements for the financial services industry.
  • Experience with new product development and distribution channel improvement.
  • Must have managed at least 5 or more professional staff members in past assignments.  Experience managing day-to-day extended enterprise operations and relationships.
  • Global thinker who understands the detail of the operations function but can think strategically about long term business growth in light of competition, industry trends, technology changes, etc.
