Description:
Director, Sales and Marketing
Our client is a well established, growing, stable and profitable manufacturer of capital equipment sold to the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales and Marketing will lead a team of regional managers, inside sales, and independent manufacturer representatives to grow and develop an international base of existing and new customers. The director will also personally manage several large key account relationships. This position will be based in Southwestern Ohio.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for meeting the Company’s short and long term revenue goals by developing and executing sound sales and marketing strategies.
- Build and maintain a high performing sales organization that is effective at selling value in a consultative manner.
- Manage a network of Sales Representatives to ensure broad and effective market coverage. Sales representatives are domestic and International; Asia, South America, Africa and Australia.
- Evaluate and select appropriate trade shows and represent the Company at trade shows to promote products, meet customers, investigate new technologies and collect competitive information.
- Personally call on key customers, manage key sales opportunities, and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Collaborate with Engineering in the identification, development and introduction of new products, services and designs.
Desired qualifications include:
- 10+ years of sales experience in an industrial equipment market, with at least 3 years of experience managing directly employed sales professionals.
- Successful experience growing sales volume in a longer capital equipment sales cycle environment.
- Knowledge of leading the marketing function including marketing materials, trade show strategy, customer satisfaction, competitive intelligence, new product development and advertising.
- Ability to travel as required, domestically and occasionally international, 40% average.
- BS degree in a technical discipline preferred.
